I'M BACK

Well, well, well. Look who decided to come back to the blogging world nine months later~

But oh man. It feels so good to be back typing on here because I really miss it. 

But why was I gone, you ask?

Well. A few reasons.

Night Out

Yesterday my bf & I had the chance to go to the House of Blues because our lovely friend was able to give us free tickets to a show there! The showtime on the tickets though was 6:30pm.. But we were unable to make it there until like 7:30 :p I thought they wouldn't let us in because it was wayyy past the time that was on our tickets. But nope! They let us in! Which I thought was really cool & I was overly excited about that for some reason. Haha.

Summer Read - The Fault In Our Stars

The other day my boyfriend & I went to Barnes & Noble to just look at books. I was just browsing around & by the time we were done with the store, he ended up buying this particular book for both of us to read. He originally wanted us to read it before we watched the movie but unfortunately we watched the movie already because we were just so tempted to.. Haha.

I'm not really a big reader but my boyfriend is. He's always trying to get me to read but I much rather reading stuff online via computer or phone lol. It's bad, I know.. So that's why my boyfriend was trying to convince me to read this book. :p

I gotta admit, its really good. If I hadn't watched the movie yet, I would have been balling my eyes out when reading this book. Though all I ever did while reading this book made me teary-eyed.

Now I at least know what the whole fuss is about with this book. It's so sweet & heart-felt. Reading this book had me feel even more grateful for everything that I have than ever before.

I bought a Macbook.. Whaaat?!

Eek! It's so beautiful! At least in my eyes.. Haha.

So as of Wednesday, July 2nd.. I arrived home with my Macbook Pro with Retina Display!! ^____^

Saving for it was definitely a big challenge for me.

I decided this post will be about how I saved money to buy my laptop with 6 tips that you might find helpful if you are trying to save up for something big!

1. (Obviously) Calculate what you need (But not so obvious..) INCLUDING tax! When I was looking to purchase my macbook, the tax added with my macbook was well under $100! So definitely watch out for that if you plan to purchase something really expensive.

Boring Work

What I'm currently staring at for the past hour.. The computer >.<

Right now I'm at work & it's so.. boring.. :( I'm a student aide (like an office assistant) at my college & since it's summer, not much calls are coming in for me to answer & not enough students are coming by the office for me to help them. All of my coworkers are all adults & by now, all but one left a couple hours ago while I still have to stay for a couple more hours. It's soo tiring not being able to do anything & so I'm just sittin' here writing this blog post. :)

What have I done to pass the time (you may have wondered)?

Beautiful Weather

The other day my family & I went to the forest preserve for.. really no reason at all. It was a lovely weather where the sun was beaming its rays & the wind gently blowing the leaves. It was such a gorgeous weather. My mom brought a blanket for the family to sit & enjoy the view & my little brother (who is almost turning 7) brought his little ball with him for us to play. We didn't really bring out any food but my dad eventually brought some little snacks for us to snack on during our time at the park.

I saw many people biking, rollerskating, walking.. It all made me smile. It made me stop & think of how grateful I am to live where a forest preserve is nearby & to have the weather not be mean with its harsh heat or chilly weather.

Right now the weather is terrible with rain & gloomy skies. I hope the weather gets better.. because it's much prettier when the sky is bright & blue.

One of the Best Local Filipino Food Around!

Don't let the picture fool you.. There was actually more on that plate that I only managed to finish like a quarter of it! I was soo full but it was definitely satisfying and worth it in the end that I had to bring it home with me. Haha :)

If you couldn't tell (if you're a filipino like me) I got Tocilog! Which orginates from the word Tocino + Iglog which in translation = Pork + Egg! Both is served with garlic fried rice. Ahh it was soo filling.

I wonder why my family & I like to occasionally go to filipino restuarants if we're filipino ourselves & we can basically cook it on our own.. Whatever the reason is, it still tastes good ^_^

Peacefully going home...

Here's a pic of the beautiful campus of my college. I now work here for my summer time job. It's great being able to work at a place that I'm already most comfortable with. Especially that I work like an office assistant here, I get to wear fancy clothing ;D 

Maybe a new fashion video on business casual outfits will be up soon ;) . 

It's pleasant to see this view when I get done with work. It's not every day that the weather is as beautiful as it is today. I could feel the wind gently blowing and the serenity of the place because barely anyone is out on a Tuesday afternoon at 7pm. :p
